India's sunflower oil imports are expected to a hit five-year low in the 2020-21 marketing season to 30 October, reflecting tight global supply, high prices and strong competition from other vegetable oils, according to the Mumbai-based Sunvin Group consultancy.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Reuters) - Speculators shed some more optimism in Chicago-traded grains and oilseeds last week as weather conditions improved for crops in South America, but the selling was much lighter than trade estimates had suggested.

Rapeseed production in the European Union and Britain could reach 18.2 million tonnes in 2021/22 in a slight rebound from a very low 17.2 million tonnes this year, consultancy Strategie Grains said in its initial projection for the next harvest.

The grant is funded from the Asia Clean Energy Fund, financed by the Government of Japan and the Republic of Korea's e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian palm oil futures inched higher on Tuesday, regaining some ground lost in the previous session, as estimates of lower December production underpinned the market.

TOKYO -- Nine Japanese makers have declared that by the end of the year, all palm oil they use will be certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, as international criticism against poor environmental practices at plantations and producers continues to grow.

JAKARTA: The Indonesian government has raised the export levy on crude palm oil to $180/mt from $55/mt earlier, with effect from Dec. 10, according to a finance ministry document seen by S&P Global Platts.

Higher palm oil prices (up 60% y-o-y) have increased realisations as well as profitability of Godrej Agrovet’s vegetable oil segment. Lower supplies from South-East Asia are leading to higher palm oil prices in India. With gradual reopening of the economy, demand from HoReCa segment is likely to improve, which may further increase palm oil prices. For every 5% increase in palm oil prices, Godrej Agrovet’s earnings can increase by c.2%.
