Palm Oil: India leads in global consumption
08/11/2008 (Commodity Online) - Indians are consuming all the palm oil produced in Malaysia and Indonesia. India is the largest importer and consumer of edible oils in the world and the country imports nearly 3 million tons of palm oil annually mainly from Malaysia and by Indonesia.

Palm oil price support plan rejected
08/11/2008 (Bangkok Post) - The government has turned down a Commerce Ministry proposal to spend at least 3.3 billion baht to buy 150,000 tonnes of crude palm oil to shore up prices, which have plunged 64% from a March record on concerns about the slowing global economy.
