European Vegetable Oils Fall on Argentine Exchange Move

27/01/2014 (Business Recorder) - The European vegetable oils market fell on Friday due to weakness in the futures markets and news that Argentina was to ease its strict exchange controls. "The market was a tad lower already during the day because of weakness in both CBOT soyoil futures and Malaysian palm oil futures. The Argentina exchange control move led to an easier sentiment also," one broker said.

Chin Teck Eyes 10-15% Profit Growth

27/01/2014 (The Sun Daily) - Local palm oil planter Chin Teck Plantations Bhd, which saw its net profit dive by more than 50% in the previous financial year, now expects a 10-15% recovery in bottom line in the current financial year ending Aug 31, 2014 (FY14), said its executive director Goh Wei Lei.

Edible Oils Mixed as Market Awaits Malaysian Export Data

25/01/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - The edible oils market was mixed on Friday. Weak domestic currency, expectations of a higher demand and firm domestic soya oil futures market resulted in prices yo-yoing. Soyabean and cotton refined oil rose by ₹2 and ₹5 each for 10 kg. Sunflower and rapeseed oil ruled unchanged. Groundnut and palmolein declined by ₹10 and ₹1 each. The volume was need-based due to the month-end; but traders are positive about volumes rising in the coming days.
