23/09/2014 (Bloomberg) - PT Astra Agro Lestari, Indonesia’s biggest listed plantation company by market value, sold 2,000 metric tons of the 8,800 tons of palm oil it offered at an auction in Jakarta.

23/09/2014 (Borneo Post) - Rising stockpiles, a dip in exports and dropping palm oil prices has left analysts at iFAST Research to downgrade its earnings revisions for local plantation stocks as it believes the sector is currently overvalued.

23/09/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - Malaysian palm oil futures on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Monday but managed to climb smartly from intra-day lows with good volumes.

Three weeks ago, Malaysia had already scrapped the export tax for CPO for a period of two months to support exports and reverse a decline in CPO prices. Malaysian palm oil exports then immediately surged over 30 percent (month-to-month) in the first half of September, indicating the success of the export tax policy. Thus, the two countries - the world’s two largest producers and exporters of CPO - may become involved in a ‘tax war’.
