24/09/2014 (Business Recorder) - The Karachi Port handled 101,425 tonnes of cargo comprising 72,406 tonnes of import cargo and 29,019 tonnes of export cargo including 1,677 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 72,406 tonnes comprised of 10,884 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,061 tonnes of general cargo; 26,998 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,200 tonnes of coal; 7,025 tonnes of wheat; 5,276 tonnes of DAP; 2,266 tonnes of soyabean meal; 2,560 tonnes of rape seed and 33,463 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
