Vietnam Not Issue Certificate of Food Safety to Ghanaian Toxic Palm Oil
14/05/2015 (SGGP) - The Vietnam Food Administration, a part of the Ministry of Health, responsible for managing food hygiene, safety, and quality, yesterday said it has not issued certificate of food safety to palm oil from Ghana of Kemtoy Miyan Cash & Carry, which the UK’s Department of Food Safety is asking to remove from market due to containing the illegal dye known as Sudan IV, which is genotoxin and carcinogen.

Oil Palm Industry in Northern Mindanao Gets Boost
14/05/2015 (PIA) – About 50,000 hectares of idle land in Northern Mindanao particularly in Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental will become productive after Malaysia’s biggest Oil Palm producer, Felda Global Ventures (FGV) and Philippines’ Bali Oil Palm Produce Corporation (BOPPC) signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) on 11 May 2015 at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Mixed Trend in Edible Oils
14/05/2015 (Hindu Business Line) - Edible oils prices ruled mixed on Wednesday on the back of need-based physical demand amid weak futures. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, imported palmolein and soya oil increased by ₹2 and ₹6 for 10 kg each. Sunflower oil gained ₹5. Groundnut and rapeseed oil dropped by ₹15 and ₹5 each.Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹545 for Malaysian super palm May delivery. Liberty traded palmolein at ₹509 JNPT, super palmolein ₹545, soyabean refined oil ₹610. Ruchi’s rates: palmolein ₹510 JNPT, soyabean refined oil ₹607, sunflower refined oil ₹700. Allana traded palmolein at ₹509 JNPT, super palmolein ₹545, soyabean refined oil ₹605 and sunflower oil ₹705.
