P Morgan calls for a buy on the Malaysian ringgit, says it may benefit from a US-China trade deal
• The Malaysian ringgit might benefit from a trade deal between the U.S. and China, according to the head of foreign exchange strategy for emerging markets Asia at J.P. Morgan. • Reports have suggested that China might buy more commodities from the U.S. if they come to a deal. • "We think that U.S.-China trade tensions are going to help put a floor under things like crude palm oil prices, because China's going to be importing more of those ... commodities from the U.S," said Jonathan Cavenagh.
