Oil palm: Telangana taps its potential
Hyderabad: With increased irrigation facilities in the State and the government encouraging farmers to diversify from traditional farming patterns, oil palm cultivation could be the next big thing happening in the agriculture sector in Telangana. Currently, oil palm is being grown in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Khammam and Bhadradri districts of the State with a cumulative area coverage of around 45,000 acres, producing around 30,000 tonnes of crude palm oil.

MPOB orders oil palm mill in Kluang to stop work for causing pollution
KUALA LUMPUR (June 15): Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) has ordered an oil palm mill in Kluang, Johor that caused river pollution to halt its operation immediately until the date the Johor Department of Environment (DOE) lifts the suspension of its licence, said MPOB Director General Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir.
