Palm oil export value will suffer if Malaysia stops exporting to EU, says minister

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 26): Malaysia's palm oil export value to the global market would be affected if Malaysia no longer export the commodity and other palm-based products to the European Union (EU) as the region is the country's second-largest palm oil market after China, said the Ministry of Plantation Indistries and Commodities (KPPK).

Cargill to invest RM81m to upgrade palm oil production facility in Port Klang

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 26): Vegetable oil refining and production outfit Cargill Palm Products Sdn Bhd will invest US$20 million (RM81 million) to expand and modernize its palm oil production facility in Port Klang which is expected to be completed and running by February 2022.

Sarawak oil palm planters oppose MPOB’s proposed RM5 cess on CPO for 2021

KUCHING (Nov 26): Sarawak Oil Palm Plantation Owners Association (Soppoa) has objected to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board’s (MPOB) proposal to impose an additional cess of RM5 for every metric tonne of crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil for a year starting January 2021.

Malaysian palm oil falls

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian palm oil futures extended early losses on Thursday to close 1.4% lower on worsening November exports, but supply concerns helped limit further slide. The benchmark palm oil contract for February delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell 46 ringgit to 3,239 ringgit a tonne.
