KUCHING (Nov 14): The federal and state governments have been urged to enhance co-ordination in expediting the application process for the recruitment of foreign labour so as to address worker shortage in Sarawak.

Malaysian palm oil futures rebounded on Friday to clock a weekly rise, as investors weighed worries of slowing November production against weaker demand.

The bullish prospects for vegetable oil prices will show no sign of abating in 2022, Vivek Pathak, managing director of Athena Tradewinds, an India-based trading house predominantly dealing in sunflower oil, told S&P Global Platts in an interview.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 11): Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Thursday, tracking the weak performance of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean oil market, said palm oil trader David Ng.

Despite the recent surge in crude palm oil (CPO) prices, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK) group chief executive officer Tan Sri Lee Oi Hian said CPO prices are cyclical and depend on climate change.

The lowest offer presented at an Egyptian state purchasing tender for vegetable oils on Wednesday was $1,440.00 per tonne c&f for 11,500 tonnes of sunflower oil, traders said.
