Indofood Agri buys oil palm firm for 1.05 billion dollars
27/5/07 SINGAPORE (AFP) - Indofood Agri Resources will buy Indonesian oil palm plantation firm London Sumatra for 1.59 billion Singapore dollars (1.05 billion US), the Singapore-listed firm said.

Crisis looms as world palm oil prices hit new high
26/5/07 (Business Recorder) KARACHI: A serious edible oil crisis is looming over the country as the world palm oil prices breached 850 dollar on Friday trading, setting a new world's all time high record. Senior trader said that the international palm oil prices registered an upsurge of 13 dollars per ton during an intra-day trade.

8/507 (Soyatech.com) - World Commodity Forecasts Food Feedstuffs and Beverages -- April 30, 2007 -- Our estimate of total oilseeds production in 2006/07 has been raised to 306.9m tonnes, some 5.5m tonnes higher than our expectations three months ago. Higher expectations of South American soybean production account for the bulk of the increase. In 2007/08 production of oilseeds in general is expected to be lower than in 2006/07 and 2005/06.
