04/04/2013 (Jakarta Post) - The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) strongly opposed the government’s plan to prohibit plantation companies from owning more than 100,000 hectares of land, saying the measure will severely curb the expansion of the palm oil industry.

05/04/2013 (Biodiesel Magazine) - Neste Oil has begun using tall oil pitch as a feedstock for renewable diesel production. Neste Oil successfully tested tall oil pitch in commercial refinery operations in March and April and states it is now ready to use the material on a continuous basis. Fuel refined from tall oil pitch will be distributed to service stations in Finland this spring. The company says its original inventions and patents covering the use of tall oil as a biofuel feedstock date back to the 1990s. Neste Oil says moving forward it will use significant quantities of tall oil pitch. Tall oil refiners in Finland produce around 100,000 tons of by product tall oil pitch annually.

04/04/2013 (Economic Times) - A drop in global edible oil prices due to better supply position is expected to bring some relief to the Indian households. Companies like Adani Wilmar, Ruchi Soya and Sanwaria Oils are likely to cut prices of all categories by at least 5% to 10% this month-end.
