10/09/2013 (National Geographic) - We’ve all heard the news about palm oil. Tales of clear cutting and species loss and the relocation of indigenous peoples have graced the pages of Huffington Post Green, the New York Times and Monga Bay. The World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) and other international conservation organizations have been at the forefront of the battle against the unsustainable development of palm plantations. And yet, it seems the science goes ignored and the pleas fall on deaf ears.
