Palm Oil Expands in Aceh

13/01/2016 (Mongabay) - Oil palm plantations continue to grow in Aceh, Indonesia’s westernmost province on the island of Sumatra. Last March they covered 393,270 hectares of land, nearly 7 percent of Aceh’s total area, according to the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Walhi), an NGO. The figures are based on government data, Walhi said.

Oil Palm Growers Seek Remunerative Price

12/01/2016 (The Hans India) - The oil palm farmers in the State are crying for the minimum support price (MSP) to meet the production cost. They feel that there is around Rs 4,000 difference between the price offered to them and the expenditure they incur on every fresh fruit bunch (FFB).
