Malaysia's FGV Holdings Bhd (FGV) said on Monday it expects crude palm oil prices to fall in the second half of the year with a dip in demand in the fourth quarter.

The impact of palm oil promotional activities carried out by the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry overseas, will be among matters to be raised at the Parliament sitting today.

The Palm Oil Industry Association (POIA) has said in a statement that while it respects the decisions relating to the industry contained in the policy statement of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, it trusts that a pragmatic solution would be provided in respect of the oil palm saplings imported in to the country following a Cabinet decision taken in 2014 by the government of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
