KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Malaysian palm oil futures rose on Wednesday, reopening after a one-day public holiday, with prices jumping on firmer soyoil and tight supply worries ahead of Oct 1-20 export data.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 - Malaysia's crude palm oil production in 2021 is forecast to decline by 700,000 tonnes to 18.4 million tonnes due to a labour shortage and erratic weather conditions, state agency the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) said on Monday.

PALM oil posted its biggest daily decline in almost four weeks, retreating from a record as a stronger ringgit and tight competition from rival vegetable oils increased pressure on the market.

ADILABAD: In a first, the authorities concerned have started raising the oil palm seed sprouts imported from Malaysia in a nursery spread over 10 acres at Madamapur area in Talamadugu. According to sources, the State government has entrusted a private company with the responsibility of managing the nursery and ensuring the proper growth of the plants.

Malaysian palm oil futures declined more than 2% on Tuesday, their sharpest intraday fall in nearly a month, as a slump in early October exports outweighed support from tightening inventories.

Soppoa chief executive officer Felix Moh said this is the most refreshing and welcomed news for the palm oil industry here as Sarawak has very acute shortage of foreign workers which had adversely affected the industry since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced in March 2020.
