Palm Prices Must Ease to Cope with Bumper Edible Oil Supplies - Mistry
15/08/2014 (Reuters) - Palm oil prices should ease towards 1,900 ringgit ($594) over the next few weeks in order to stay competitive and recapture market share from rival vegetable oils, leading analyst Dorab Mistry said on Monday, as prospects of bigger supplies looms.

Edible Oils Gain on Firm Futures
13/09/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - Major edible oils gained on Friday tracking firm futures, steady currency and seasonal demand. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, imported soya and palmolein along with indigenous sunflower and rapeseed oil rose by ₹2 each. In line with extended gain in Malaysian palm oil futures, local refineries have increased their rates for palmolein by ₹2-5 for 10 kg. Groundnut and cotton refined oil rule unchanged. The volume remained thin but under current was a positive, said trade sources.

13/09/2014 (Business Recorder) - The Karachi Port handled 95,651 tonnes of cargo comprising 68,520 tonnes of import cargo and 27,131 tonnes of export cargo including 4,248 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 68,520 tonnes comprised of 21,758 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,193 tonnes of general cargo; 45,569 tonnes of bulk cargo: 29,064 tonnes of coal; 6,393 tonnes of DAP; 8,379 tonnes of soyabean meal and 1,733 tonnes of rape seed.
