Crude Palm Oil Moves Up in Futures Trade On Spot Demand
10/01/2012 (MSN) - Crude palm oil gained Rs 4.90 to Rs 541.60 per 10 kg in futures trade today amid a firming trend in the spot market on the back of a pick-up in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 4.90, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 541.60 per 10 kg, with an open interest for 202 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in February moved up by Rs 4.40, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 543.70 per 10 kg in 204 lots.
Analysts said fresh buying by speculators on the back of a firming trend in the spot market amid a pick-up in demand mainly helped crude palm oil futures trade higher.
