Trade And Investment Mission To Turkey, Kuwait And
KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 (Bernama) -- Malaysian companies are invited totake part in a trade and investment mission covering Turkey, Kuwait andOman from May 8 to 15.
Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Ahmad HusniMohamad Hanadzlah, will lead the mission going to Istanbul, Kuwait Cityand Muscat.
In a statement Thursday, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation(Matrade) said the mission would provide a platform for Malaysiancompanies to promote intra-Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) tradeactivities.
Currently, the intra-OIC trade was slightly more than 12 percent of thetotal OIC countries' trade, Matrade said.
It added that companies from various sectors such as building materials,electrical and electronics, automotive and machinery are welcomed to jointhe mission.
Other sectors include furniture, food and beverages, chemicals, oil andgas, rubber and palm oil products, apparel and fashion products, footwear,cosmetics, giftware and household products.
"The participation is not confined to promoting exports of products andservices but also to explore business opportunities and collaboration withcompanies in visited countries," Matrade said.
It added that services sectors such as education, information andcommunications technology (ICT), healthcare, franchise, construction andtourism have the potential to be promoted.
