Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

24/10/2011 (Business Recorder) - Four ships C.V Nysted Maersk, C.V Pisti, C.V Mare Atlanticum and M.T Serenity carrying container and furnace oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours.

Meanwhile another LPG carrier Gas Elixir also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during the same period.

Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 54% on Thursday as against the 46% on previous day, where a total of eight ships namely C.V Nysted Maersk, C.V Pisti, C.V Mare Atlanticum, M.V Amira Dino, M.V Silver Star, M.V Lord Byron, M.T SC Shenzhen and M.T Serenity are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Rice, Sunflower Seeds, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 104,003 tonnes, comprising 70,804 tonnes imports and 33,199 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,685 Containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the report period.

Six ships C.V Nysted Maersk, C.V Pisti, C.V Mare Atlanticum M.V Silver Star, M.V Lord Byron and M.T SC Shenzhen sailed out to sea on Friday (today) morning.

Two ships C.V MSC Anafi and M.T Gas Elixir carrying Containers and LPG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Friday, 21st October-2011.
