Astra Agro Fails to Sell 9,000 Tons of Palm Oil in Auction

18/11/2011 (Bloomberg) - PT Astra Agro Lestari, Indonesia’s biggest listed plantation company by market value, failed to sell 9,000 metric tons of palm oil it offered at an auction in Jakarta today.

Yesterday, the unit of PT Astra International sold all of the 9,000 tons of the commodity it offered at an auction at prices ranging from 8,250 rupiah a kilogram ($916.7 a ton) and 7,900 rupiah a kilogram.

Indonesia is the world’s largest producer of palm oil.
