Indonesia Stock Movers: Astra Agro, Medco Energi Internasional
30/11/2011 (Bloomberg) - Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Indonesian trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as 10:19 a.m. in Jakarta.
The Jakarta Composite index rose 0.9 percent to 3,679.34.
PT Astra Agro Lestari (AALI IJ), the nation’s largest listed plantation company by market value, increased 1.7 percent to 21,250 rupiah, the biggest gainer among agricultural stocks. Palm oil futures climbed as much as 0.6 percent to 3,088 ringgit ($969) a metric ton in Kuala Lumpur, set to rise for the first time in six days.
PT Medco Energi Internasional (MEDC IJ), Indonesia’s largest listed oil company, rose 2.2 percent to 2,300 rupiah, heading for the first gain in five days. Oil futures advanced 1.5 percent to $98.21 a barrel in New York yesterday, the highest settlement since Nov. 17.
