28/09/2011 (Borneo Post) - Felcra Bhd has been allocated RM224 million to implement various development projects in Sarawak.

Its chief executive Datuk Juzilman Basir said the funds were channelled in before the recent Aidilfitri celebration.

“This is because there are many projects being planned and implemented in this state,” he said during Felcra Bhd Sarawak Region ‘Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri’ event at its main office here yesterday.

According to him, the funds also covered the RM20 million to be paid as dividends to its participants in the state.

He also called on the management of Felcra Sarawak to always do its best in ensuring the smooth implementation of projects.

Meanwhile, Felcra Bhd Sarawak general manager Ali Mohamad said a total 51,000 hectares of oil palm plantations in Sarawak had been implemented by Felcra.

“We will strive to realise our target of 100,000 hectares of oil palm plantations by 2015,” he said.

He also said Felcra Bhd was hoping to overcome several problems affecting the oil palm processing mills in the state’s southern region.

“We hope this problem can be rectified as soon as possible,” he said.

Meanwhile, the event also saw the attendance of Land Development Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datu Jaul Samion, Felcra Bhd’s board of directors’ member Datuk Jaafar Abu Bakar and Samarahan Resident Rodziah Morshidi.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions were also given to residents of Rumah Seri Kenangan and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Kuching.
