08/08/2011 (The News) - Port Qasim (PQ) handled a cargo volume of 127,665 tons, comprising 75,908 tons of imports and 51,757 tons of exports during the last 24 hours, a statement said on Saturday.

Berth occupancy was measured at 85 percent at the port, where a total of 12 ships are currently occupying berths to load and offload cement, corn, containers, diesel, furnace oil, phos-acid, palm oil and fertiliser, respectively.

The port witnessed brisk shipping activity where five ships, carrying containers and furnace oil, were allotted berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and MW, respectively.
