13/06/2011 (Stock Market Wire) - Chairman of MP Evans Group, Peter Hadsley-Chaplin, told the AGM that production of palm oil had got off to a very good start in 2011 with robust prices and markedly improved crops.

The price of palm oil is hovering around historically high levels.

It was also proving to be an excellent season for Australian beef cattle following the beneficial rainfall earlier in the year.

Mr Hadsley-Chaplin said that prices for both the lighter-weight cattle and the heavier, grain-finished cattle, have eased from the recent highs but continue to trade at historically-strong levels.
