7/26/2005 Thai Press Reports - Being the no.1 palm oil producer insouthern Thailand, Krabi is positioning itself towards a city of palm oilin response to biodisel promotion and demand.

Chairing a meeting in preparation for the strategy, Krabi Vice GovernorChai Panitcpornphan said a working committee has been set up to work on acomprehensive process starting from producing palm saplings, plantationplots, quality and sales markets to ensure high quality in every process.

This follows research confirmation that the palm oil can be mixed into biodiesel to replace diesel, following the continuous oil price hikes.
