Court orders farmer’s arrest for stealing palm oil
15/04/2010 (Joy Online) - A District Magistrate's Court at Kade on Wednesday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a farmer for stealing 15 gallons of palm oil.
David Kofi Nugbenyo, was granted GHc 900 bail with one surety but failed to re-appear at court.
Prosecution said on December 4 last year, Nugbenyo stole the quantity of oil belonging to two women, Celestine Akola and Amma Sholoyi, both palm oil producers at Nkwantanang.
Nugbenyo transported the oil by a Mazda Urvan with registration number WR 1107 N, driven by Eric Sintim, a witness in the case, to Kade.
