17/02/2010 (Black Sea grain.net) - Ukraine will increase its palm oil import in the 2009/10 season due to strong export of sunoil. Since the beginning of season 2009/10 (September/January), Ukraine imported about 167 KMT of palm oil or by 23% more than some period last year (136KMT). Total 2008/09 season Ukraine imported 252 KMT of palmoil.
 
While the palm oil import to Ukraine increased in the current season, the palm oil export decreased by 8% down to 50 KMT in comparison with last season.
 
UkrAgroConsult believes that palm oil import to Ukraine will decrease during next months due to partial switching of Ukrainian consumers from palm oil to cheapening sunflower oil.
