20/02/2010 (Bernama), Kuala Lumpur - Dezaia Procare Beauty is eyeing overseas markets for its palm oil-based cosmetics produced through a collaboration with the Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

Its initial targets in the next three to five years were Asean countries like Brunei, Thailand and Vietnam, said Dezaia Managing Director and Founder Zarina Bashir Ahmad.

She said the product had been in the market since 2004 but was only available in the Klang Valley.

Following its rebranding launched in Ampang Saturday, the company hoped to record 100,000 unit sales this year, she said.

"We have made several changes including repackaging the product so that it can be widely accepted in the country," she told reporters.

Dezaia's cosmetics had gone through two years of laboratory tests at MPOB and was approved by the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrances Association.

Dezaia would also produce chocolate fibre and cooking oil. The new products are expected to enter the market in the middle of the year.

The company is also working together with Universiti Pertanian Malaysia to produce health products using tilapia, haruan and avocado essence.

Dezaia has invested RM1 million especially in research and development in the cosmetics and health products.
