Malaysia\'s Sept palm exports up 12pc from Aug
01/10/2007 (Reuters) - Exports of Malaysian palm oil products during September rose 11.9 per cent to 1,415,266 tonnes from 1,264,422 tonnes shipped in August, cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance said today.
SGS said the estimate comprised 1,295,900 tonnes of palm oils and 119,366 tonnes of oleochemicals and lauric oils.
In the palm oils category, 113,504 tonnes were made up of refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil, 715,004 tonnes of RBD palm olein, 130,657 tonnes of RBD palm stearin and 182,180 tonnes of crude palm oil.
China was again the biggest buyer of Malaysian palm oil products in September, taking 473,125 tonnes, followed by Pakistan with 124,730 tonnes and the United States with 88,687 tonnes.
European Union countries, another major destination, bought a total of 276,954 tonnes. - Reuters
