Floods reduce palm oil production
10/1/07 (The Star) KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Palm oil Board said palm oil production dropped 26% to 1.14 million tonnes in December from the previous month after floods in main producing states of Johor and Pahang cut output.
Stockpiles fell 10% to 1.51 million tonnes compared with November, while exports fell 8% to 1.2 million tonnes.
In the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives market, the most active crude palm oil futures contract closed down RM20 to RM1,870.
