Malaysia October palm oil exports up 7.4%
26/10/06 (The Edge News) - Exports of Malaysian oil products for Oct 1-25 rose 7.4% to 1,178,379 tonnes from the 1,097,233 tonnes shipped between Sept 1 and 25, cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance said on Oct 26.
SGS said the estimate comprised 1,041,233 tonnes of palm oils and 137,146 tonnes of oleochemicals and lauric oils.
In the palm oils category, 127,362 tonnes were made up of refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil, 390,642 tonnes of RBD palm olein, 111,520 tonnes of RBD palm stearin and 239,204 tonnes of crude palm oil.
China was again the biggest buyer of Malaysian oil palm products for Oct 1-25, taking 253,342 tonnes, followed by the United States with 120,855 tonnes and Pakistan with 81,850 tonnes.
European Union countries, another major destination, bought a total 303,474 tonnes. -- Reuters
