China Domestic Edible Vegetable Oil Imports Declined Year-on-Year in the First Half of the Year
SunSirs (10/08/2026) - According to customs statistics, my country imported 2.7 million tonnes of edible vegetable oil in the first half of 2026, a decrease of 14.9% compared to the same period last year.

The 14.9% year-on-year decline in edible vegetable oil imports during the first half of 2026—driven by a contraction in imports of soybean oil, a major imported variety—has fostered expectations of tighter domestic supply, providing bullish support for spot prices.
Palm oil is another major edible vegetable oil import for my country; given the overall decline in imports for the category during the first half of the year, palm oil imports likely contracted in tandem, and expectations of a tightening domestic supply have similarly provided bullish support for its spot prices.
