SunSirs: Growth in Malaysian Palm Oil Exports Slows Sharply in First 20 Days of July
SunSirs (22/07/2026) - Cargo surveyors report that Malaysian palm oil exports for the period of July 1–20 ranged from a 0.9% decline to a 4.1% increase compared to the previous month. In contrast, exports rose by 4% to 12.4% during July 1–15, and by 1.6% to 5.1% during July 1–10.
The month-on-month change in Malaysian palm oil exports for July 1–20—ranging from a 0.9% drop to a 4.1% rise—marks a significant slowdown from the 4%–12.4% growth observed during July 1–15. This indicates a marked weakening in export demand during the latter part of the month; growing market expectations of ample palm oil supplies are exerting bearish pressure on spot prices.
