11/04/2026 (Business Today) - The government is stepping up efforts to strengthen its palm oil supply chain with a RM3.5 million incentive to help fresh fruit bunch (FFB) traders obtain Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification.

Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the initiative aims to ease compliance costs while reinforcing sustainability standards across the industry.

“More than 3,000 FFB traders nationwide are expected to benefit, with applications opening on April 15 via the e-MSPO system under the MSPO Council,” she added, while emphasising that the move supports the rollout of MSPO 2.0, a stricter certification framework designed to enhance transparency, sustainability and global competitiveness of Malaysia’s palm oil sector.

Noraini said the incentive underscores the government’s commitment to building a resilient, responsible supply chain, while boosting confidence among both domestic and international stakeholders.
