Base price for crude palm oil raised, soyabean lowered

30/6/06 (New Kerala) - New Delhi: Government today increased the base import price for crude palm oil by four dollar to 424 dollar per tonne while lowered the base price for crude soyabean oil by 13 dollar to 529 dollar.

The base price for RBD palm oil has been revised to 443 dollar per tonne from 439 dollar while palm oil (others) was up by two dollar at 434 dollar per tonne.

Crude palmolein and RBD palmolein base price was raised by four dollar each to 450 dollar and 453 dollar respectively.

The base price for palmolein (others) category was also raised by four dollar to 452 dollar per tonne.

The last revision of the base price for edible oils took place on June 15.

The government fixes base tariff value to calculate custom duties and to prevent any loss of revenue due to under invoicing by importers.

In addition, Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has increased the tariff value for brass scrap (all grades) to 4055 dollar per tonne from 3576 dollar.
