FGV Holdings eyes expansion in S'wak, seeks strategic partnerships in palm oil storage at Port Tanjung Manis
06/03/2025 (Dayak Daily), Kuching - FGV Holdings Berhad is looking to strengthen its presence in Sarawak's palm oil sector, with plans to expand operations and explore strategic partnerships, particularly in palm oil storage at Port Tanjung Manis, Sibu.
A press release stated that these opportunities were discussed during a courtesy visit by FGV Chairman Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa to Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment (Mintred) Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at Wisma Sumber Alam in Petra Jaya here.
"During the meeting, Rastam provided an overview of FGV's operations in Sarawak, which include plantations and palm oil mills in Lundu and Miri," it said.
Rastam also highlighted FGV's commitment to supporting Sarawak's economic growth, particularly in the plantation sector and related infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Awang Tengah welcomed the visit and reaffirmed the State government's support for FGV's efforts to expand its operations in Sarawak.
The courtesy visit concluded with discussions on potential future collaborations between FGV and the Sarawak government to strengthen the plantation sector and drive sustainable economic development in the State.
Also present were Mintred advisor Datuk Seri Naroden Majais and Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) general manager Zainal Abidin Abdullah. – DayakDaily
