22/07/2024 (CDM) - At today’s telephone session, based on the consent of the majority of members, the Government of Montenegro passed the Decision on temporary measures to limit the prices of products of special importance for people’s life and health and the list of products.

“Taking into account that, through continuous monitoring of the market situation and price movements, it was observed that due to external shocks there is still an increase in the prices of products that make up basic food products, the Decision limits the maximum margins in amounts of up to 5% in wholesale and up to 7% in retailers for the following products: wheat flour (Type 400 and 500), sugar, sunflower oil and table salt”, the Government has pointed out.

They note that the Decision is the result of harmonizing the list of products with the Chamber of Commerce, and its goal is to protect the vulnerable category of customers, with lower incomes, while at the same time preserving the economic activity of retailers in retail and wholesale.
