Yusof appointed CBIP chairman
21/2/06 PETALING JAYA: (The Star) - CB Industrial Product Holding Bhd (CBIP) has appointed Tan Sri Yusof Basiran, chief executive officer of Malaysian Palm Oil Promotion Council (MPOPC), its chairman, effective yesterday.
He replaced Tengku Ardy Esfandiari Tengku A. Hamid Shah, who was re-designated as executive director of CBIP.
According to a company official, Yusof's appointment is a strategic move based on his vast involvement in the palm oil industry.

“His wide knowledge and experience in biodiesel and palm oil would help enhance the company's expansion,” the official told StarBiz.
Yusof has been director general of Malaysian Palm Oil Board since 2000, but relinquished this post when he joined MPOPC. Prior to that, he had spent slightly over two decades with the Palm Oil Research Institute of Malaysia.
