31/01/2024 (New Straits Times), Kota Baru - A woman was nabbed by Kelantan Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry enforcement officers yesterday for keeping 2,358kg of subsidised 1kg cooking oil and sugar.

State ministry enforcement division director Azman Ismail said the woman was detained after she failed to produce a retailer's licence for the goods.

He said an enforcement team went to the woman's premises in Taman Harian near Guchil Bayam here following public tip-offs.

"In the 1.25pm raid, the officers discovered 1,326kg of 1kg cooking oil packets inside a car parked near the premises.

"Further checks found 1,032kg of sugar in other parts of the premises. The team then arrested the woman," he said.

Azman said the case was being investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961.
