BRAZIL SOYBEAN EXPORT REGS 12.56 MLN T BY JUNE 30

SAO PAULO, July 11 (Reuters) - Brazil registered 12.56 million tonnes ofsoybeans for export by June 30, well above the 9.08 million tonnes at thistime in 2000, the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oils Industries(Abiove) said on Wednesday.Abiove forecast Brazil's soybean exports to reach 14.5 million tonnesfor the 2001/02 commercial year (February/January), up 23 percent abovelast year's shipments of 11.78 million tonnes.Of the expected 37.8 million tonnes of soybeans to come from thecurrent crop, Abiove estimated it would process 22.20 million tonnes intomeal and oil, up from last year's crushing of 21.58 million tonnes.Export registrations for soy meal reached 6.54 million tonnes, upslightly from the 6.33 million registered by the same time in 2000, Abiovesaid.It forecast that soy meal exports would reach 10.1 million tonnes bythe end of the commercial year in January, up from the 9.86 millionexported last year.Soy oil registrations stood at 1.08 million tonnes by the end of June,up from the 724,000 tonnes registered last year at this time.Abiove forecast soy oil exports this commercial year to reach 1.35million tonnes, up slightly from the 1.15 million tonnes exported in2000/2001.Registrations can indicate an intention to export but are not alwaysexercised and may not reflect final export figures.Abiove, which represents about 75 percent of Brazil's soy industry,said its figures were based on the research of Brazil's export departmentSecex.
