CPO Production Down 3 Pct To 897,063 Tonnes In Jul
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's total crude palm oil (CPO)production in July declined 3.01 percent or 27,792 tonnes to RM897,063tonnes from 924,855 tonnnes in June, according to the preliminary figuresreleased by Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
The decline was attributed to sharp downfall in production in Sabah.
MPOB said CPO production in Sabah fell 17.02 percent to 231,558 tonnes inJuly, from 279,042 tonnes in June.
However, CPO production in Peninsula Malaysia rose 2.97 percent to 627,484tonnes from 609,374 tonnes while production in Sarawak increased 4.34tonnes to 38,021 tonnes from 36,439 tonnes.
MPOB said total production of palm kernel fell 2.18 percent to 254,402tonnes in July, from 260,084 tonnes in June.
However, production of crude palm kernel oil increased 2.06 percent to126,021 tonnes from 123,474 tonnes in the previous month, while productionof palm kernel cake rose 0.5 percent to 145,715 tonnes from 144,996tonnes.
Total palm oil stock, which is the total amount of crude and processedpalm oil kept at the premises of mills, refineries, bulking installations,and oleochemical plants, declined 10.64 percent or 109,718 tonnes to921,825 tonnes at the end of July, from 1,031,543 tonnes at the end ofJune, MPOB said.
