KL Kepong Invests RM60 Mln In Two New Palm Oil Mil

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- Plantations company, KL Kepong Bhd(KLK), is investing RM50 million to RM60 million in two palm oil mills inIndonesia.

Its general manager David Tan Hock Beng said that building works on thetwo mills have started.

He said this to newsmen after a briefing session at the Kuala Lumpur StockExchange Investors' Week 2001 held here today.

Tan said that the mills are expected to commence operations in two years'time.

The mills would have production capacity of between 80 tonnes and 100tonnes of crude palm oil (CPO) per hour, he said.

Tan also said that the new mills would support its Indonesian oil palmplantation.

The company has a plantation area totalling 41,000 hectares in Indonesia,he noted.
