Research stations get MSPO certification

18.11.2019 (The Star Online) - KUALA LUMPUR: Eight Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) research stations have received the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification on July 31.

The certificate is valid for five years, expiring on July 30,2024, said MPOB in a statement.

The MPOB research stations includes Kluang Research Station in Johor (890.30 ha), Keratong Research Station, Pahang (607.07 ha), Bagan Datuk Research Station, Perak (425 ha) and Lahad Datu Research Station, Sabah (1,986 ha).

MPOB director-general Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir said: “The certification of the research stations reflects their commitment in complying with MSPO sustainability practices, which is internationally accepted.”

The research plantations have complied with sustainability principles as stipulated by the MSPO standards.

These including the preservation and conservation of the environment by ensuring that the environment and the bio-diversity are constantly protected through efficient and sustainable management. — Bernama
