KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- Crude palm oil (CPO) production forJanuary stood at 934,812 tonnes, down by 1.46 percent compared with948,704 tonnes in December last year, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board said ina statement Thursday.

Production of palm kernel, crude palm kernel oil and palm kernel cakestood at 270,006 tonnes, 131,218 tonnes and 151,318 tonnes, increased by0.36 percent, 7.79 percent and 6.57 percent, respectively.

Total CPO stocks for January in Malaysia eased to 683,475 tonnes, a dropof 6.93 percent from 734,364 tonnes in December.

For processed palm oil, total stocks in January was at 564,276 tonnes,higher by 17.75 percent versus 479,207 in the previous month.

Total palm oil stocks increased by 2.82 percent to 1.247 million tonnesfrom 1.213 million tonnes previously.

Palm kernel stocks, however, declined by 20.13 percent to 95,828 tonnescompared with 119,985 tonnes, while crude palm kernel oil stocks fell by1.77 percent to 259,940 tonnes versus 264,631 tonnes in December.
