Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Tuesday Mar 20
The Star Online (20/03/2018) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesday March 20
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures edged up on Monday supported by weakness in the ringgit, its currency of trade, and with traders bullish about the prospects of improving demand.
* U.S. wheat futures slid to six-week lows on Monday as much-needed rain and snow fell in dry areas of the southern Plains, pushing most-active K.C. hard red winter wheat futures KWK8 down more than 5 percent, traders said.
* Oil prices slipped on Monday as Wall Street slid more than 1 percent and energy market investors remained wary of growing crude supply, although tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran gave prices some support.
MARKET NEWS
* Share markets were stuck on their worst run since November on Monday, as caution gripped traders in a week in which the Federal Reserve is likely to raise U.S. interest rates and perhaps signal as many as three more lie in store this year.
