Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Nov 30
The Star Online (30/11/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday Nov 30
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures fell to a four-month low on Wednesday evening, a third consecutive session of losses as the ringgit strengthened against the dollar, making the tropical oil more expensive for holders of foreign currencies.
* U.S. corn futures rose about 1 percent Wednesday on fresh export demand and bargain-buying after the spot December contract dipped to a contract low, traders said.
* Oil prices dipped on Wednesday in a volatile session buffeted by conflicting statements from oil ministers a day ahead of OPEC's meeting in Vienna, as members debate the path for an extension of the group's supply-cut agreement.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares fell on Thursday, weighed down by a plunge in high-flying technology shares, a move that some see as a healthy correction after a strong rally but others believe may herald the peak of a "super cycle" that has been boosting the sector.
