Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Thursday Nov 23
The Star Online (23/11/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday Nov 23.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures ended higher on Wednesday, tracking buoyant soy oil and crude oil prices, and prompting short covering among traders.
* Chicago soybean futures approached a two-week high near $10 a bushel Wednesday on technical buying ahead of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, analysts said.
* Oil settled at a two-year high Wednesday after the shutdown of one of the largest crude pipelines from Canada cut supply to the United States.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares edged ahead on Thursday as speculation the Federal Reserve might not tighten U.S. policy as aggressively as first thought slugged the dollar and boosted bonds globally.
