Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch thursday Nov 16
The Star Online (16/11/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday Nov 16.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures hit their lowest in nearly a month on Wednesday evening, tracking weakness in crude oil and as the ringgit strengthened.
* U.S. soybean futures firmed on Wednesday on seasonal strength as the Midwest harvest wound down and a jump in soyoil tied to an unexpected monthly drawdown in domestic supplies, traders
said.
* Oil prices dropped on Wednesday after the U.S. government reported an unexpected increase in crude and gasoline stockpiles, but an increase in refining runs and a drawdown in distillates
helped prices bounce off session lows.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares got off to a cautious start on Thursday after Wall Street stumbled despite upbeat U.S. economic news and the Treasury yield curve hit its flattest in a decade as investors priced
in more U.S. rate hikes.
