The Star Online (14/11/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesday Nov 14.

FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures suffered their sharpest daily decline in over a month on Monday evening, falling for a third consecutive day as they tracked a weaker performing soyoil on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).

* U.S. soybean futures fell to their lowest in a month on Monday, pressured by improving crop weather in South America and chart-based selling, with the benchmark January contract SF8 falling through several key moving averages, analysts said.

* Oil prices held steady in a tight range Monday after briefly testing lower, with support from Middle East tensions and record long bets by fund managers balanced by rising U.S. production.

MARKET NEWS

* Stocks notched a small gain in choppy trade on Monday amid uncertainty over the fate of U.S. tax reform efforts, while Britain's pound fell as investors worried if Theresa May can remain Prime Minister and get a good European Union exit deal.
